M.A.C - SS 12 – Beauty is Back

M.A.C Trend Previews, hosted by the super talented Senior Make-Up guru Amber D, are definitely a highlight of every season.

It’s always great to spend a few hours learning about new and exciting M.A.C products and trends dominating the Northern Hemisphere runways for Spring/Summer 2012.

And yes down under we are going into Autumn/Winter 12 but these trends are the perfect partners to our chillier seasons.

Clear and fresh skin is near naked but not raw. Complexion is hydrated and all about dewy, sporty and spa fresh.

While the skin glistens brows are defined and full (but not heavy) or think simple eyes with the gesture of eyeliner to add structure and dimension.

Stripped back is the main message; this is a trend for simply great, super desirable skin.

NOUV-EAU (Seen on runways at Paul Smith, Issey Miyake and Missoni)

Soft and pretty with a glamorous twist, Nouv-Eau is all about the eye.  Lids and lashlines are single toned washes of pastels and delicate watercolours with rubs of charcoal.

Lips and cheeks are kissed in peach, apricot and strawberry with a subtly worn in stained effect and the overall look is romantic and feminine without being to sugary or cute.

Skin is luminous and creamy; earthy and metallic highlights accentuate lips, cheeks and eyes without lending the overall look to be tanned, it’s more about warmth. Matt tones are sidelined for light reflective metallic textures like, creamy copper, rust terracotta and peach tones with a focus on features to create flattering sophistication.

Think striking but not harsh colour. While the statement is all about beauty brights, there is a subtleness. Shades are bold but not stamped on.   Skin is plumped and fresh.
