The ladies of Wellington no longer need to venture north to get their taylor fix. Finally, the high-end but incredibly wearable brand taylor has opened the doors of its Wellington store. The long-awaited store is nestled amongst top New Zealand fashion boutiques in the iconic Old Bank Building. It’s meant to be with the location so incredibly perfect, and the space ideal for taylor’s style. It is a boutique which makes you want to take your time, and enjoy being surrounded by gorgeous clothes.
Vicki Taylor, the woman behind the highly successful taylor brand, has been designing beautifully cut, high-end New Zealand made garments in Auckland for over ten years. Already building a big name for herself with two Auckland stores, the move to Wellington is exciting for the brand, and Wellingtonians. The garments Vicki and her lovely and talented team make are fitting to the Wellington style, with black always a feature. “I think Wellington women will really get taylor because it’s a little bit quirky and little bit different yet elegant and eminently wearable,” says Vicki. “Like our designs, our goal for the new taylor boutique was simplicity with a twist – to create an environment where individual styles and pieces could contradict and compliment any mood or personality, but where women would feel completely comfortable to try anything.”
Vicki has succeeded with her new boutique. It is perfect, and if Thursday night was anything to go by, it will be a huge success. The bubbles were flowing, the whitebait delicious, and the fitting rooms full of excited women. Oh, and the wallets were open. Even I was tempted… coming home with a gorgeous dress, and one of the signature taylor plait neckpieces.
If you live in Wellington, go be tempted. You will never look back.
