Autumn/Winter 2010

Where has the magic gone?
It is necessary to rediscover value and quality, encourage innovation and consider fashion an art form that lasts past one season. The future for this starts now so let us take you on a journey into the wintery worlds of enveloping protection.

Winter 2010 at taylor we are delving into creative play with static geometry and architectu
enfold-top-over-a-camber-tunic-with-bounce-skirt--and-voyager-belt--lookbook-1153ral shapes that fold and drape against the body creating freeform sculptures. The allure of asymmetric lines, experimental cuts and how the curves interact with the body, lead to a season of experimentation and magic. Garments that can be transformed from a dress to a top, from casual daywear to elegant chic by using a different sleeve, armhole or angle. This season we want to put the fun back into fashion.

This winter’s gleaming, soft falling; fine silks and translucent cashmere fabrics are balanced against structured and sculptured suits in textural Italian wools. This season teeters on the perfect balance of hard and soft, overlaying textural transparencies against soft leathers. Contrasts are paramount, Textures, colours, lustre and mixing the masculine and sculptured features with soft feminine elements. We play particular attention to volumes teamed back to sharp tailored precision.

There is a compulsory choice of leather or suede not only in our amazing footwear but Chic jackets, vests and belts. Add a dark side to your look with chain belts, incredible supple Italian lamb
skin leather jackets, worn over volumes of soft draped silks and cashmere knits. This winter the shoulders are wider on slender jackets and masculine waistcoats, to make the wearer feel stronger.

This season‘s must haves are:

Enveloping dresses that wrap circular shapes around the body and defend the body worn with sharp tailored jackets or waistcoats and ankle boots.
Japanese style volumes like Kimono styled sleeves
Soft cut pants that skinny over the calf and ankle worn with crisp shirts and belted to accentuate the waist.
Knee revealing skirts in either pencil or soft bubble shapes worn with thick coloured knit tights, and soft leather boots.
High waisted tailored trousers worn with maxi cardis over circular, egg shaped tops and tunics.Masculine edged jackets, with square shoulders and corseted waists.
Cashmere and leather
The Shirt
Voluminous Coats and capes that wrap the body in Origami like sheaths. Our taylor 100% Italian Cashmere Enclosure Coat is heavenly in it’s shape and feel.

To compliment the taylor looks this season we are excited to announce an amazing Avant Guard knitwear range - Kourbela from Athens, Cable knitwear from Melbourne and we continue with our new casual approach. We will be expanding the styles in our favoured Red Engine Jeans to some with amazing 360 degree stretch and accompanying them with great range of organic cotton pieces from Skinny Nelson and friends from Australia. We hope you enjoy these amazing pieces that fit our stylishly casual aesthetic and are really well price pointed.

We look forward to seeing you in “taylor” soon to prepare for the upcoming wintery world.
