About Workshop Denim:
Workshop Denim designer and company founder Chris Cherry established the company in 1980 and launched the Workshop Denim brand in 1992. As the driving force behind the company, Cherry styles the Workshop Denim ranges and travels several times annually throughout Europe sourcing fabrics for the Workshop Denim collections, and new product lines for the company's retail division.
Workshop Denim is now a collaboration between Chris and Helen Cherry, Emma Kidd, Meagan Curran and Enuake Sirikage who all bring their unique talents and personality to the collection. With Chris’s guidance as Creative Director, the collection remains faithful to Workshop’s rich heritage.
Workshop Denim’s focus is on ‘real life’ ‘substance’ and ‘authenticity’. Jeans and other denim garments have always formed the core of any Workshop Denim collection.
The brand has built a solid reputation based on hardwearing, classic denim styling with a strong directional edge. The key to Workshop Denim’s success is quality of cloth, cut, fit and almost fanatical attention to detail
Cherry is as renowned for his passion for architectural detail and interior design as he is for his selection of fabrics and construction of cutting edge clothing, and has been heavily involved in the design of Workshop's five retail stores, the newest being a 3500sqft flagship store located in Ponsonby, Auckland.
