I have to say a huge Happy Birthday to Barkers, which turns 40 today. Those who were teenagers in the '90s will, I'm sure be fondly familiar with the fashionable Barkers trackpants. They were a hugely popular fashion statement, and a "must have" in the wardrobes of both guys and girls across the country.

Also in style circa 1994 were the Barkers zip-up logo hoodies. Admittedly, I loved mine so much that I even chose it to wear in a family portrait. The '90s had a lot to answer for!

I’ve managed to get my hands on some vintage Barkers campaign shots for those who might not believe me. Track-suiting never looked so good!

And for anyone feeling nostalgic, Barkers is bringing back the branded trackpants this April in four colour-ways all in the iconic pigment dye shades, so don’t miss your chance to re-engage with a genuine New Zealand fashion ‘moment’.
