The L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival is a 13 year old event born to celebrate the wealth of fashion design talent in Australia.

 
It takes place in March each year and differs from Australian Fashion Week in that it is a public event and the collections shown are for the current season.

The timetable is enormously broad, encompassing an invitation-only (read virtually impossible to get to) Opening Party at Government House; an annual Designer Award; L’Oréal Paris Runway shows and numerous other shows; business seminars, a staggeringly rich cultural programme, beauty workshops, luncheons, parties, art exhibitions…the list, both ticketed and free entry, goes on and on.

You can register to get the LMFF newsletter which keeps you abreast of plans for each year’s event, and tickets can simply be bought through Ticketmaster.

FashioNZ says:  almost a no brainer to take your trip to Melbourne when LMFF is on.  Just make sure you get in EARLY with ticket requests/purchases as it is a really well attended event and seats sell out fast.
