Hi,
Here at the FashioNZ office, the countdown to NZ Fashion Week in September is on! NZ Fashion Week is the premier fashion event in our country, representing the best of what NZ fashion has to offer. But it's also a fantastic event for another reason -NZFW promotes the future of the fashion industry in NZ, through its ‘New Talent' competition. Did you get a chance to vote? There was such a high calibre of entries, and it's great to see people getting a chance to get their talent out there. You can check out the winners here.
Another great event, important to promoting new talent in the fashion industry is the Westfield Style Pasifika Fashion Awards. If you're a budding designer, make sure you get your entry in quick - entries close on 9 July. See below for more details. I can't wait to see what this year's bunch of new talent will have to offer!

Hit or Miss?
Become a member of FashioNZ's very own fashion police by voting on our new Facebook feature, ‘Hit or Miss'. Every Friday, the FashioNZ team will be posting a new fashion look to our Facebook fan page, and we will be asking you to vote on whether you think the look is hot, or not! Then check out whether editor Nat agreed, and her tips on how to (or how not to) achieve the look. To vote, make sure you're a fan on our Facebook page. Every person who votes will go in the monthly draw for fab prizes!

Thunderpants
In 1995, a couple of girls were frustrated with the 2 extremes of the underwear market, suffering either the dreaded granny knickers, or the skimpy, lacy numbers not suited to every day wear. So they created their ideal undie: a mix of 92% cotton and 8% lycra, cut for comfort and style, and hand printed in original wood-cut designs. And so, Thunderpants was born, and later grew into Thunderwear - a whole range of comfy clothes for busy people. Thunderpants and Thunderwear are now available nationwide.

Trix & Dandy
The dynamic criminal duo of glamorous Trix and sly Dandy are the inspiration behind Michael Pattinson's diffusion label Trix & Dandy. Only in its second season, the winter 2010 range sees the Dandy man in relaxed tees with iconic and pop art prints; hoodies, knit options and shirts that focus on subtle detailing. The Trix side offers total versatility; most garments can be worn as a dress or with tops, jeans or leggings, and there are reversible options and layering pieces that suit any occasion.
