Taylor winter 2013 takes inspiration from architectural shapes, derived not only from physical lines, but also from the edge between light and dark that defines space and volume.
These shapes develop and change throughout the collection; they can be determined by an intersection of lines criss-crossing to create squares, a geometric graphic check, or a printed or seamed line and panels.
This season, there is a new understated ease with pared back shapes that speak of rigid simplicity. Sleeveless jackets, diagonal cuts, graphic inserts, and juxtaposition of colour and texture are set against translucent layers that create precise volumes. These layers are sometimes multiplied, misplaced or overlapped to create intrigue within the silhouette.
