For more than thirty years, The Cupboard’s select, international clientele has visited this sophisticated fashion house in Parnell, Auckland to choose custom-made clothes and accessories as well as unique prêt-a-porter styles found nowhere else.
Couturiere and owner Diane Burkhardt draws upon Eastern and Edwardian influences, lavish brocades, beading, silks; soft cashmeres and warm wools; crisp cottons and wool knits. Her designs are layered, textured and complex that are intrinsically ‘New Zealand’. The colours she chooses resonates the landscape’s restrained shades and unexpected drama.
