Dates and international for INDUSTRY
Launched earlier this year under the Hair-X incarnation, newly renamed INDUSTRY is back on April 6 and 7 next year at the Pullman Auckland.

Following on the heels of charming expat Snowden Heel, the international guest artist for 2013 will be Rodney Cutler from Cutler Salon NYC.  The Cutler NYC team worked on more than 30 runway shows this New York Fashion Week, for the likes of Betsey Johnson, Cynthia Rowley, Badgley Mishka and Tadashi, and  are described as “the go-to source for celebrity and fashion hair trends, salon business building, and product recommendations.”  New Zealander Tyson Kennedy will be part of their INDUSTRY entourage.

Local wunderkinds Sara Allsop and Jock Robson (Dharma) are the co-founders of this hair industry event, backed up by Nikki Harmsen, former New Zealand Fashion Week talent.  The inaugural event was well supported with big brands like L’OrĂ©al and Redken participating and shows from designers of the calibre of Jimmy D and taylor.

This great 3m promotional video has just been published this morning (Tuesday 16 October) - look our for familiar and much loved faces like Michael Beel and Mana Dave.

Unique concept, new lingerie and swimwear destination
Hats off to The Department Store for a really clever idea that deserves great success.

Just over a week old, The Dressing Room is a destination for “New Zealand's finest lingerie and swimwear.”  The dedicated store within Lucy and the Powder room stocks lingerie from Lonely by Lonely Hearts, Miss Crabb, Kate Sylvester, and Ingrid Starnes. with some pieces created exclusively for the store.

Swimwear is from Surface Too Deep who recently made their New Zealand Fashion Week debut, and an equally clever accessory option is the Missoni/Havianas collab.

Meanwhile, in suitable contrast, I Love Ugly have also opened at The Department Store as part of the Top-Up space.  The label’s 11m2 space features signature I Love Ugly black cabinetry and is designed to resemble their customer's wardrobe.
