Hit or Miss? Mary-Kate Olsen's grunge look

It’s a hit!  Mary-Kate Olsen is the master of the grunge-chic look, and is a celebrity who knows how to wear vintage really well. 

I love the way MK has mixed prints with this look, with the flannel shirt and leopard print skirt, and the boots are my favourite part about this outfit.  It’s not a look everyone can pull off, but MK definitely knows how to work it.

To wear vintage well, make sure you don’t get away from your own personal style too much, as you will look as though you are trying too hard.  The key to Mary-Kate pulling this look off is that she stays true to her personal style, and you know she hasn’t tried too hard.

Take a leaf out of FashioNZ blogger Kelly’s book – when it comes to vintage, there is such a thing as too much, wearing too many vintage/grungy pieces together will leave you looking like a hobo!  Kelly suggests mixing vintage pieces with your own clothes, or classic pieces.
