Shoe Blog: Winter Wardrobe Basics

Winter Wardrobe Basics

The weather is definitely cooling down – time to bring out the coats, cook some soup and update your winter footwear... Is YOUR shoe wardrobe ready for the wet, cold weather to come?

Here are our “must haves” for your winter shoe wardrobe – styles that you’ll be wearing for years to come!

The Casual.
MELODY from DL Sport are made in Italy, fully leather lined and feature a side zip for easy on/off as well as rubber soles so they don’t slip. Perfect for casual days, weekend strolls, walking the dog or playing with your kids in the park.
Choose from black, turquoise, beige or brown python-embossed leather.

The Ankle Bootie.
FIFI by United Nude features the unique fold design which envelops the foot, but on an elegant and wearable mid heel. Pair with some of this season’s gorgeous new hosiery to lengthen the leg.

THE Rain Boot.
Keep warm and cosy and stay dry while watching those winter sports in these new waterproof and genuine sheepskin lined boots from Cantebury. Choose from SURREY (knee high) or YORK (3/4 length). They have a cushioned insole and fit all calf widths as they have a clever stretch panel inside.

The Classic Court.
Choose from round toed platform pumps or the new point – there is a style to suit every foot shape and lifestyle.

THE Knee Boot.
OXFORD by Progetto is a no brainer: the great mid block heel, the almond shaped toe and the uber-flattering bias cut at the top – choose from lush black suede or soft smooth leather.
Prefer a flat? The CHESTER riding boot provides classic equestrian style.
If you have a curvy calf, try styles from CLARKS and HOGL or PAUL GREEN. Olivia Palermo wears 50/50 by Stuart Weitzman.

THE Flat.
REMO lace-up brogue by Everybody in black or burgundy, MARCEL loafer by Manufacture D’Essai in tan or black suede (features hidden wedge), KRISTINA black patent ballet flat by Scarpa, FAUNA ballet flat in navy suede with rosette by Paul Green and RETRO Italian ballet flats.

THE Biker Boot.
A little bit tough, wear this style to grunge down pretty dresses or with a maxi skirt or dress. We love the YALE by Jeannot with its stud and removable buckle detailing – wear zip up or down depending on your mood. The JACINTA by Paul Green is an aged-look leather in rich tan, with stud, buckle and plaited detailing for a biker meets boho feel. Also looks great with tights and a tunic, skinny jeans or leather pants.
