New Beauty Releases for Autumn

Autumn Beauty March 2017

New autumn beauty must-have products. Image writer’s own.

The changing of the seasons signals a change in fashion and beauty. It also seems to lead to one of the most significant drops of new releases as well, which we aren’t going to complain about. Today we have five new beauty products you should add to your wish-lists over the coming months. There’s something for the glitter lovers, the skincare obsessives, the multi-tasker fan and the scent enthusiast. We have all bases covered. Beauty themed pun intended.

Stila Magnificent Metals ‘Glitter and Glow’ Liquid Eyeshadow, $37 from Mecca Cosmetica: If you like sparkly, eyelids that look like they’re drenched in liquid metal, this is for you. It delivers on its promise of no fallout and once it’s on the eyes it will stay put. We have the shade Kitten Karma, a champagne with silver and copper reflects but admittedly a couple of the other shades are tempting us as well. We’ll just have to patiently wait for Mecca to restock.

Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant, $30 for 13g & $109 for 57g: We’ve been fans of Dermalogica’s original Daily Microfoliant in the past so this new version was bound to get our attention. Infused with Active Binchotan Charcoal, Niacinamide, Red Algae and Tara Fruit Extract, it helps to smooth the skin and protect it from the harsh elements. Pollution, we are looking at you. It is early days for us with this but so far, so good.

Girl Undiscovered ‘Under The Waterfall’ Crystal Cleansing Water, $45: We love stumbling upon local brands with a real devotion to delivering products using the finest ingredients and pricing them affordably. This cleansing water can be used to remove makeup or following a cleanser as more of a toner. We prefer it for the latter and love how gentle and cooling it feels on the skin. It is also free of parabens and synthetic fragrance so it should suit most skin types.

MAC Studio Quicktrik Stick, $78: Released in collaboration as part of the Diane Kendal collection, this multipurpose product is fantastic. On one end you have a cream bronzer, designed for bronzing and contouring the face. The other has a cream highlighter for adding radiance and luminescence to the high points of the face. We’re usually wary of creamy stick products like this as they can often be trickier to work with but this is designed to not be too oversized so you can better control the amount of product. This is fantastic for on-the-go touch-ups or quick application, which we love. Be quick though, this product is part of a limited-release at MAC.

Miu Miu L’eau Blue, available March 27th exclusively to David Jones and Smith & Caughey’s. Also available from Ballentyne’s from April 1st: Who can resist the charming Miu Miu fragrances, encased in a turquoise bottle that feels and looks so luxe and retro in the best way. L’eau Blue is definitely a softer fragrance than the original but still equally as exquisite. With notes of Lily of the Valley, Wild Rose and Akigalawood so it is light and fresh without being too intensely floral.

Sophie Putze also writes at Nana Wintour.
