Juliette Hogan at NZFW 2010 - Review
Juliette Hogan A/W 2011
The Morning After the Night Before
Sweet, whimsical and beautiful are just some of the words which come to mind to characterise Juliette Hogan’s AW 2011 collection as I saw it come down the runway on day one of NZ Fashion Week.
The collection was signature Hogan – full of feminine, pretty and above all, wearable pieces that will definitely be filling my wardrobe next winter! The neutral palette of nudes, pinks and beiges was offset by shades of black, lace and polka dots. A stand out piece was the form-fitting neutral one-shoulder dress, accented with a simple, slim black belt around the waist.

Then there was a fabulous check trench coat, and plenty of pretty knits in interesting shades, such as pastel blue. Pussy-bow blouses were another key feature – a sheer blouse with a pussy-bow tie teamed with high-waisted fitted pants caught my eye, the perfect autumn/winter office combo.

Another favourite was the ruffled, blue tie dyed skirt, and dress in the same fabric – a unique piece that stood out among the more muted colours.
The collection also had a distinct 60’s feel to it, and this was emphasised by the hair and makeup - chic up-dos and simple winged eyeliner and blush pink lips and cheeks. The polka dot halter dress was ‘Madmen’ with a twist, and another stand out piece. A blazer in the same polka dot fabric was also another fun surprise.
Near the end of the show I saw one of my other absolute favourite pieces from the collection – a delicate black lace maxi dress, which was so simple, so elegant, and very Juliette.
