Sable & Minx, Brady - NZFW 2011

The Sable & Minx collection had a sense of elegant simplicity which I enjoyed.
There were a lot of dresses, just above the knee in length which were floaty and feminine.
The plunging necklines added a touch of sexiness without giving too much away.
The collection showcased a great mix of colours; some stories were earthy in olive, camel and burnt orange then there were pops of red and cobalt blue and a gorgeous print of blues and purples which was used in a dress and shirt.
Of course there were some great classic pieces in black like a tailored slimline pant and blazer which was teamed back with a shirt in the fabric of the print I mentioned earlier.

Outfits were styled simply offering an effortless sheik feel to this collection.
Brady - While this is a very wearable label, Brady offers simple styles with an edge.
The pieces were tailored; they clicked and worked with the entire collection.

Small details like bows and draping offer a point of difference and the use of silks gave pieces a luxurious feel.
I loved the sandwash silk pant which draped beautifully at the front with an exposed zip at the back and the elasticised hems gave this silhouette a sleek and elegant feel, what I also loved is the offering of colour – a beautiful rust orange or classic black.
Another fabric stand out was a print in deep purple and cream. In a short sleeve and long sleeve dress option with a high low hem this piece worked perfectly in this fabric and pieces like this are such easy additions to any wardrobe.
I love how Brady’s offering reaches out to so many different shapes and that these pieces can be effortlessly taken from day to night.
