Good Will Wardrobe
Country Road and Red Cross have joined forces to reward customers for both their social conscience and their passion for fashion.
Fashion Trade, a clothing donation program launched in Australia and New Zealand, aims to raise money for the community and reduce landfill by encouraging people to recycle their pre-loved Country Road clothing and accessories. The initiative is the first of its kind in the Asia Pacific region and brings together the power of two trusted, international brands.
From July 1, simply donate any clothing or accessories and include at least one pre-loved Country Road item to any participating Red Cross retail store and you’ll receive a $10 voucher to put towards your next purchase of $50 or more at Country Road stores. The donated clothing and accessories will be sold by Red Cross retail stores to raise funds to support its everyday work with vulnerable people.
Only a very small percentage of the clothes donated to Red Cross via collection bins are of acceptable quality for re-sale in their growing network of stores. Improving the quality of donated goods increases the likelihood of re-sale and given quality is the cornerstone of Country Road’s philosophy, Fashion Trade will help Red Cross receive a constant supply of high quality merchandise.
“Red Cross is committed to offering our customers the best range of donated clothing possible. Good quality clothing and accessories are vital to the success of our stores which is why we are so delighted to partner with Country Road, a brand which embodies enduring style and exceptional quality.” said Olivia Cozzolino, General Manager Merchandise, Red Cross.
“Fashion Trade is an important initiative for us. By encouraging customers to recycle their pre-loved Country Road clothing and accessories with a cash incentive, Red Cross will be able to raise much needed funds for the communities in which we live. We’re also doing our bit for the environment by helping reduce landfill.” Said Sophie Holt, Creative Director, Country Road.
