Swinging back into action in 2013!

A celebration of vintage culture and an entertaining day out for young and old, The Very Vintage Day Out is returning in 2013 with a bigger, better event after a highly successful first outing last year.

Taking a nostalgic trip back to a simpler era at Alexandra Park on April 13th, the Very Vintage Day Out will bring together the best of local vintage, with everything from classic to kitsch on display.  Utilising a bigger space, food stalls, more entertainment and even more shopping, there will be a myriad of delights for anyone with an interest in vintage.

“We were absolutely thrilled with the success of the first Very Vintage Day Out, so we had to bring it back for 2013!” says Talia Stephens, Organiser and Founder of The Very Vintage Day Out.  “Before the VVDO there weren’t many places where the public could find a variety of vintage style products, services and experiences all under the same roof.  We had such a huge response to the first event, we’re excited to be able to expand and bring the event back with even more flair this year.”

Brilliant all day entertainment with some of the country’s best Charleston, Rock’n’Roll, Burlesque, Rockabilly and Swing performers displaying their skills will keep the crowds entertained.  Whilst shoppers will love the extensive range of garments, trinkets, beauty products, homewares and jewellery for sale at an array of different market stalls.  Attendees are encouraged to get into the spirit of the day with spot prizes for the best dressed ticket holders.

Following on from the success of Miss Vintage 2012, this year’s pageant will be Miss Pinup New Zealand 2013, with nine stunning beauties displaying their vintage-inspired skills and charm to take out the title.  Entries are currently being accepted on the Very Vintage Day Out website and close on January 25th 2013.  The first judge to be announced is esteemed costumier and Milliner Amy Jansen-Leen, who is delighted to be a returning judge for the pageant.

Brimming with vintage charm and with something to please everyone, the Very Vintage Day Out is thrilled to be returning for 2013 and will be releasing more information on further developments over the next few weeks.
