Thanks so much for allowing me to try the Clinique 3-Step System.

It is so nice to use, it really is wonderful stuff! Very gentle on the skin and not at all irritating. I love that it is fragrance free also.

I started seeing great results after the 4th day (using twice a day). I have always had dry, irritated skin with lots of pigmentation and this product has done wonders for me!

I have even received 2 comments about the change in my skin since I have started using these products!

Katie that’s fantastic. Keep it up and enjoy!

The best thing you can do for your pigmentation is to always wear a sunblock.

This will help to prevent future damage and in some cases, correct past damage.

Overall, I loved the Clinque Clinique 3-Step System!

Because I have oily skin, I am used to using harsher products that leave a squeaky clean feel.

I was pleasantly suprised to find the cleanser very gentle and leaving my skin smooth with a clean feel at the same time. It foams up to a nice, soft and fluffy foam which I don't normally get from supermarket cleansers (which are more bubble-like).

The toner smells quite alcholish. I think the salicylic acid in the toner helps to reduce oil and prevent breakouts as I have noticed blemishes clearing up.

The moisturiser is also very light and leaves my skin feeling fresh and breathable.

My skin is less oily now, as I use blotting paper everyday and have definitely noticed the difference.
clinique   2011-03-15 23:53:40
Hooray for less oily skin!

You’re right, the Clarifying Lotion does have a slight alcohol smell.

You will find that most cosmetic products contain alcohol, as it’s a very effective preservative and anti-bacterial agent.

More often than not though, the alcohol smell is masked by adding fragrance. The difference with Clinique is that the brand is 100% Fragrance Free, Allergy Tested and Dermatologist Developed. This is why it’s good for your skin.

Overall a great group of products that is as easy as one, two, three!

The cleanser...well I was a bit nervous using this as my experience with foaming cleansers of any description has been that my skin feels tight and nasty afterwards...my fears were however groundless!

I felt clean and can certainly see the impurities coming to the surface (even though I was using a salon recommended product before hand).

I didn't break out so badly that I couldn't leave the house. But if you have a special occasion coming up, I would either start early or hold off!
Really economical too...half a squirt in the easy to use pump and you are away laughing... another bonus, you can easily close the pump off for when you're travelling!

The toner/exfoliater...this was a bit scary the first time I used it...it really stung and was very, very cold on the skin. The stinging sensation has gone away now but the "cold" is still there...a great way to start and end the day in summer, just not sure how fabulous it will be when it's freezing cold outside :)

The moisturiser goes on well, but I am finding that I am using more of it than I would have liked. A good couple of squirts each time in fact. I don't have a tight feeling so it must be doing it's job.

Overall I really like the products. But I have given it a 4 because I seem to have developed a slight irritation around my nose...could be totally unrelated but just in case, a four it is! My skin looks fresh and at 37 I appreciate it!

Would I recommend the products to anyone...heck yes! I have used Clinique before, many years ago and decided that it wasn't for me...now though, I'm a changed woman!

The basics of skin care are the same whether you’re 17 or 70: Cleanse, Exfoliate, Moisturise with products customized for your skin type. 37 is the perfect age to try 3-Step again!

Step 2 in Clinique’s 3-Step range is the Liquid Exfoliator. It is often confused with a toner, but it’s actually an exfoliator, just in a liquid form. The tingly feeling comes from the ingredient called Salycylic Acid.

If you feel the tingly sensation, this means that the product is working to exfoliate, or clear away dead skin cells. It does feel a little strange initially but this is simply the product doing its thing.

For added moisture, you can by all means wear a moisturiser with SPF protection over Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion / Gel.

I have always been a soap and water, no nonsense gal when it comes to face care. So immediately I loved the Clinique Facial Cleansing Gel.

A little bit goes a very long way, the tall bottle looks great in the bathroom and has no fiddly cap to remove with wet hands!

This gel cleanser also leaves a slight tingly feeling - great for my combination skin. Initially I wasn't so taken with the idea of a toner, as this is a step in the regime that I have always been a bit sceptical about.

But after only a couple of days use, I was sold. It really does leave my skin looking less blotchy, feeling smooth and very clean. (Maybe a small stopper in the top of the bottle would be great for safety - my kitten almost knocked the open bottle over once or twice, and the wide open neck tends to increase the liklihood of an accident!).

The Dramatically Different Gel Moisturiser is superb - sinks in quickly, doesn't sit like a slick on my skin, and as with the cleanser.

I didn't need to use much, just a couple of small pumps was enough for my whole face.

Actually it doesn't appear to be a gel - more of a light cream.

Extremely pleasant to use, though for me, it's better at night as it does lack any form of SPF protection - my only real complaint!

Overall, the Clinique 3-Step System is just what my skin needed. I am definitely hooked.

Hi Stephanie,

For ultimate moisture and SPF protection you can by all means wear a moisturiser with SPF over Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel.

DDMG is a moisturiser designed to build a barrier against impurities as well as being a skin balancing moisturiser. Depending on what your skin prefers, you can wear it either by itself or with a moisturiser on top, that way you can get your SPF protection.

Words can't even describe how awesome my skin is now.

I'm pretty impatient when it comes to skincare, and far too quick to dismiss products that I don't 'feel' working. But the Clinique 3-Step System makes your skin feel totally rad straight away!

I keep forgetting to do it twice a day, and I have still seen great results. Yet to see a reduction in pore sizes on my nose, but I can live with that because my face is very soft and bright these days.

I think the best thing is that I just don't have to worry about putting anything on my face anymore, because I know it can handle it. Which is a huge weight off my shoulders.

Biggest issue with me was step 2, which smells REALLY strongly of alcohol (can't put my finger on whether it's like vodka or white rum..). Most of the time this is ok, but when you're hungover and desperate for a clean face, you're going to suffer preeeetttty bad. But beauty is pain right?

It was very easy to convert my friends (2 so far) after giving them a trial. I'd definitely fork out for this one.
clinique   2011-03-15 23:49:19
Hi Kirsty,

I can assure you that Clarifying Lotion doesn’t contain either Vodka or White Rum (!) but it does contain a form of alcohol.

Alcohol is found in most cosmetic products as it acts as a preservative and also as an anti-bacterial ingredient.

The difference with Clinique though is that the brand is 100% Fragrance Free. This means that where in many cases fragrance is added to mask a certain smell, Clinique don’t do this. Why?

Because fragrance is the one of the most common causes of allergic reactions on the skin. In addition to 100% Fragrance Free, Clinique is also an Allergy Tested brand.

Every formula is applied 12 times to over 600 people before it is released to market. If even one of those 7,200 applications is found to have a reaction, the product is reformulated.

I have now been using the Clinique cleanser, exfoliator and moisturiser for just over 2 weeks.

After only a few days my skin looked clearer than what it has been recently using a competitors product.

I do really like it, but after about a week I started to break out into pimples on my cheeks and forehead which surprised me a little as I don't usually get pimples very often.

I think it must be my skin settling into a new product. I found the cleanser very good, didn't dry my skin out and it removes make up well.

I found the exfoliator (which you apply like a toner) a little strong smelling and felt very fresh on my skin (almost too strong). But once I put the moisturiser over the top of it, it feels really good.

My skin definitely feels better and my pores look clearer.

I have combination skin and it can sometimes get a bit oily during the day. I was a bit nervous about using the moisturiser, in case it was too heavy. But it wasn't. I really like the Clinique 3-Step System and it looks like it makes a difference to my skin.

The only bad thing I can mention about the product is they dont smell as good as most skin care ranges. But that is just me being picky. All in all I like the product and I think I will probably stick with it from now on.
clinique   2011-03-15 23:50:21
Hi Lisa,

You will be pleased to know that breakout is normal when first using 3-Step. Whilst it might seem like a terrible thing at the time, it actually means that the product is working.

“Gunk” from underneath the skin is brought to the surface through both the cleansing and exfoliating actions. Once it’s brought to the surface, the Clarifying Lotion can then work to sweep it away, along with any dead skin cells, to create a smoother, healthier, more radiant complexion.

With continued use, you will notice that your skin is less prone to breakout.

This is the first time I am using Clinique products. Also the first time using more than a "two step routine". I found the Clinique 3-Step System a bit time consuming at first, but after seeing good results I don't mind anymore.

My skin has never been too bad, I am the normal skin type with my chin being the most oily area but since using Clinique, I have not got one spot at all!

My skin feels refreshed after every use, and also looks refreshed. Thank you for the opportunity to trial these!

These Clinique products are fantastic.

When I first started using them I did have a few breakouts, but the write-up did say that this would happen and to just keep using it.

The routine is very easy. Now my skin is so smooth, clean and better than it has ever been.

I would never have spent the money on Clinique before, but now it will be all I use. Thanks so much for introducing me to it!!

This was my first time using the Clinique 3-Step System. I am skin type 3 (oily-combination).

During the first week of using the Clinique system my skin broke out a little more than usual, but in further weeks of using it, this cleared up and I have had less blemishes than usual.

The main benefit I noticed was a reduction in shininess on my face during the day, it was noticably less oily. My skin did not dry out, which has been a problem for me in the past when using other 'oily skin' formulation products.

I will keep using the Clinique system as I have found it works very well.

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap (oily skin formula):

This cleanser is great. When I first used this it gave my face a very 'refreshed' feeling after washing my face. It got rid of all my makeup (even though i shouldn't use this as a makeup remover), and wasn't too harsh on my eyes when some got into my eyes.

Overall I would definitely recommend this to anyone, with any skin type (even though it says oily skin).

Clinique Clarifying Lotion Clarifiante:

I put this product on a cotton ball, then swiped all over my face. I personally didn't think that this product made much of a difference to my skin and it is supposed to be an exfoilator and toner (I think). I was really 'put off' this product because of the smell. It smells very badly of strong alcohol.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel:

When I first used this product I was really confused because I didn't see how a gel could moisturise your face. I was wrong, this product you apply just like a normal moisturiser.

It is great for oily skinned people because it contains no oil. But if your skin is really dry this wouldn't be the right product for you because it wouldn't provide as moisture as you need.

Overall I would recommended this product to anyone with combination or oily skin.

I have been using the Clinique 3-Step Skin Care System for a few weeks now, thanks to FashioNZ.

The products are really wonderful. The liquid facial soap really feels like it's cleansing deep down into my pores.

I love the smell and feel of the clarifying lotion 2, it tingles a bit when you use it, but it feels like it's really working.

The dramatically different moisturizing lotion feels so good on my skin and I have noticed that my skin is smoother since using it.
Elle  - 23 - Star Rating: 5Star Rating: 5Star Rating: 5Star Rating: 5Star Rating: 5   2011-03-16 23:36:34
I have always had incredibly oily skin, and tried so many different cleansers out there, from a number of different companies.

Clinique tops them all. It is easy to use, and doesn't leave any residue on the skin. I was very impressed with the way that it toned down the oil content of my skin without completely drying it out. I am also very happy with the light weight moisturiser.

Clinique is an amazing product and will do wonders for your skin. Thankyou for this opportunity to try it.
