Sail into Summer with Gubb & Mackie

Gubb & Mackie was established in post-war New Zealand in 1949 by two servicemen, who repaired and altered garments onboard warships. Upon their return, the pair began making bespoke officers uniforms for the New Zealand Navy.

Today, under the ownership of Murray Crane and creative direction of Jordan Gibson, Gubb & Mackie builds on it's made in New Zealand ethos, to offer quality utilitarian separates and relaxed tailoring.

Gubb & Mackie's Summer 2016 collection is inspired by warm weather and long weekends at the beach – an escape to balance the rigours of modern life. As always travelling is at the forefront of design, when garments need to get the job done whilst maintaining comfort and looking good.

This season graphic prints, fresh pastel colours and a play on silhouette are highlights. Featured are lightweight layering garments that are designed to be interchangeable, made from Italian cottons and linens that look best when heavily worn and full of character. Practically speaking the loose open weave allows for air to pass through the garments when the air is hot. The development of accessible, made in New Zealand garments for everyday use remains the focus.
