Inspired by electromagnetic fields (EMFs), Robyn Mathieson invites you to embrace the high voltage, exuberant hues of her Winter 2012 collection, Bright Spark.
 

“EMFs are produced by electrically charged objects, and extend indefinitely through space,” says Mathieson. “What is so wonderful about them is that they affect the behavior of other objects in their vicinity, something I hope will happen to every woman that wears this collection,” she says.
 

In keeping with the theme, Mathieson has placed huge emphasis on mixing greys and monochromes with bright pops of explosive tangerine, aqua and a touch of magenta.
 

“The collection focuses on mixing contrasting printed fabrics together, then layering with texture, neutral tones and pleating,” says Mathieson. “Everything is designed to work together.”
 

Silhouettes emphasise femininity with full dresses featuring divine draping, fitted printed knit  dresses, full sleeves and wide legged pants. The range features New Zealand made textured knits, as well as Mathieson’s own exclusive poly/lycra prints in circuitboard and kaleidoscope.
 

Featuring names from throughout the solar system, the Bright Spark collection from Robyn Mathieson will be as infinitely classic, blazing and electric as the force of nature that inspired it.
