With the notion of travelling the silk roads of Asia and Europe, tigerlily’s head designer Amelia Stanley has drawn inspiration from Eastern aesthetics and bohemian cultures, merging them to create a trans-seasonal collection aptly named Persian Caravan.

“Textiles from Central Asia and cultural influences gathered along the Silk Road such as sought after gold yarn, precious silk worms and exotic spices have formed inspiration for this earthy yet opulent collection,” says Stanley.

Autumn/Winter 2012 is a time to add a sense of adventure to the way we dress in the colder months. Oriental prints evoke femininity with delicate florals reminiscent of Japanese ikebana motifs and apparent silk-screened effects. Wallpaper designs, digital animal prints and intarsia knits add interest and texture to the mix.

A rich Eastern palette of malbec, gypsy red, amber and eclectic patterns have been used, with stand out pieces including the long maxi Dalla lace skirt, relaxed palazzo Mazur pant, Moravia Sari dress, the Persian Rug cardigan/jacket and the eco-friendly veg-tan lamb leather biker jacket.

Iconic basics, such as the tank top, anorak and track pants have been reinterpreted in luxe casual fabrications with t-shirts finished with leather pockets, oversized man-style anoraks and loop back hoodies delivering a masculine edge to the range.

Additions to tigerlily’s sort-after ‘travel inspired’ accessories collection include a selection of genuine leather pieces; the thin-woven Rozalia wrap belt adorned with custom-made tigerlily hardware, belt bags and wallets. For exotic adventures, the Carpathian is the perfect overnighter featuring leather detailing and fringing. Rafia and wool felt wide-brim hats are key styling pieces complimenting all the tigerlily winter essentials.
