The summer weather is finally here and we’re hoping for a few more months of gorgeous weather before we start heading into autumn. There are still BBQs, beach days and hot summer nights to be enjoyed! Sunny days and sandals go hand in hand, so we’ve scouted out some great sandals in wide fit and larger sizes from local labels and online stores to help you add the finishing touch to your outfit.

All about the height
If you like your heels high, there are some great sandal options out there. A pair like the Hailey Tie Up Heels from New Zealand brand Staavias are super on trend and would be perfect for a night out, or go for something bright and playful like this Lost Ink pair from ASOS. A lower heel can be a great alternative if you don’t want to go too high, or if you want something more suitable for wearing during the day.

Find the right angle
There’s just something about a wedge heel that says summer to me – especially if it’s a cork wedge. Wedges are great with a knee length dress, a floaty maxi, cutoff shorts, a cami and a kimono… basically they’re a great go-to shoe for summer.

Fancy flats
When it comes to shoes, personally I’m a flats girl. They don’t have to be boring – look for cool colours and textures in your sandals to really make them stand out. Faux snakeskin print and contrasting colours are popular at the moment, so use your sandals to really make a statement.
