Beauty envy: Georgia May Jagger
Beauty writer Gracie Stewart fills us in on her latest beauty crush, Georgia May Jagger.
If you haven’t already heard of Georgia May Jagger because a) you have been living under a rock or b) because you have been in a coma for the last year then it’s ok I forgive you.
The 17 year old newcomer—in case you couldn't tell from the pillow lips and tousled blonde locks is daughter to Mick Jagger and the ever glamorous Jerry Hall.
With her rock star royalty parents Georgia could have easily lived off her A list status, instead she is putting her fabulously good genes to work and followed the family footsteps into the world of modeling. She is already the face for denim label Hudson and makeup brand Rimmel, racked up countless comparisons to Brigitte Bardot and secured editorials in all kinds of high fashion magazines including a cover for U.K. Vogue.
Like her father she has that famous Jagger pout and a gap in her front teeth that rivals fellow model Jessica Stam, lucky for her there is nothing sexier than a good gap! In a recent interview Jagger said “I think my gap adds character, on the street a guy once yelled, “You could stick a gold through your front teeth!” Which meant I could put a £1 coin between them, but you can’t, I’ve tried! Fifty-penny coins and 2-pence coins yes, but not a pound.”
After weeks of circulating rumours, it has just been confirmed that that the young model will also be the face of Italian fashion house, Versace, for their Spring, Summer 2010 campaign. She will be replacing Gisele Bundchen who stars in the current ads. Modeling for Versace must run in the family – her mum, Jerry Hall, also modeled for them more than 20 years ago.
“Modeling is always something I’ve really admired because I’ve seen my mum and sister do it, but it wasn’t something I ever thought I’d do, it’s more of a great way to get into other things, like art and design and photography. I think all the stuff that happens before the pictures are taken is much more exciting.” Jagger quipped in an interview with Vanity Fair magazine.
Her style choices also echo that of her parents - part rock star, part ‘80s supermodel. For daytime she rocks ‘90s grunge with ease, pairing her fabulous red lips with a beret and beach tousled hair. After dark she loves to embrace the ‘80s with bold colours, prints and body-con dresses. I fell in love at first sight with this girl’s quirky style.
