Helen Cherry, one of six designers to create a limited edition, gift-with-purchase scarf for the  just-announced Lancôme Juicy Tubes and Breast Cancer Cure campaign, talks about her contribution to the the cause...

You've just launched a major project with Lancôme supporting Breast Cancer Cure. Tell us why you chose this campaign?

Firstly I believe that if you are in a position to help, you should. What comes around goes around – you never know when you might be in need of help yourself.  Secondly, Lancôme is a luxury brand and I use Juicy Tubes myself – so there was an obvious branding synergy.

What inspired your scarf design for the Juicy Tubes/Breast Cancer Cure campaign?

I love animal prints, they are a constant feature of my collections. This particular print is a classic design but the berry colour which ties back to the gloss colour “Fraise” makes it more playful and whimsical.

What’s your favourite way to wear the scarf?

I would wrap it around my neck twice and knot it at the side – very chic!

Which fashion icon do you think wears scarves well?

Audrey Hepburn.

Who would you love to see wearing your scarf?

Madonna.

What does your beauty regime consist of?

Cleanse morning and night. Eye Cream and Tinted Moisturiser with SPF 15 everyday. Regular facials, regular exercise and my greatest indulgence is regular pedicures.

What is the best beauty advice you ever got?

8 hrs sleep every night works for me.


Who are your beauty icons (or whose beauty do you admire) and why?

Jane Birkin, Julianne Moore, Stephanie Seymour, Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Connelly, Angela Lindvall, Daria Werbory.  I admire them because not only do they look great but they are inspiring for their talent, style, grace, intelligence, strength and personality.
