4 Days of Fashion in the City returns for 2018

Fashion fans have a lot to be excited about later this month with the return of the ever-popular 4 Days of Fashion in the City which sees Central Auckland become a hub for all things stylish. The event celebrates the many wonderful brands and stores that are spread across the High Street, Queen Street and Britomart districts with creative retail experiences to entice shoppers.

The four day event is the perfect chance for these brands to treat their customers to something special creating different experiences that showcase their talents in partnership with Heart of the City. “Offering fresh and dynamic experiences is key to being a unique and exciting retail destination,” says Viv Beck, Heart of the City Chief Executive. “From nurturing self and senses, to getting style advice from your favourite fashion and lifestyle influencers, our event programme this year is a great mix of fashion, food and music.”

Heart of the City have worked in partnership with headline sponsor Resene to curate over 20 events and experiences to draw customers into the central city. Among the many brands showcasing their take on style are Ingrid Starnes, STORM, Barkers, RUBY, Mi Piaci, Moochi, WORLD, Sunglass Hut, Crane Brothers and many more. Fashion fans will be able to meet their favourite designers, soak up some fashion history, get advice from local fashion and lifestyle personalities, not to mention watch an open air runway show that takes to O’Connell Street.

A CERTAIN STYLE: BRUCE PAPAS
NZ FASHION MUSEUM IN COLLABORATION WITH AUCKLAND MUSEUM AND SMITH & CAUGHEY’S
March 19 – April 1, Level 6, Smith & Caughey’s
An exhibition and publication that shares the story of Bruce Papas, of Flora Mackenzie’s Ninette Gowns, head designer at Milne & Choyce and his own salon, Staevro Gowns. For two weeks only, you will find a vast collection of sketches, embroideries and garments spanning across Papas’ 40+ years in the fashion industry at Smith & Caughey’s.

RUNWAY SHOW: INGRID STARNES AW18, HARMONIES NO. 18
March 23, 7:00pm, O’Connell Street
A runway presentation of the in-season AW18 collection, right down the middle of beautiful cobbled O’Connell St. The models begin and end their walk at the Ingrid Starnes Vulcan Lane store.

LIVE MUSIC FROM CHELSEA JADE AND RACING
March 24, 1:00 – 2:30pm, Fort Street
The sweet melodies of Chelsea Jade and Racing are brought to the inner city streets. Enjoy the ‘rock and roll with an injection of chemical haze’ that is Racing from 1:00pm – 1:30pm, followed by New Zealand’s ‘accidental dream pop hero’, Chelsea Jade at 1:45pm.

COLOUR OF FASHION EXHIBITION

An exhibition of looks “that shimmer and swish, and whisper secrets… that refuse to bow to the convention of ordinary” from NZ Fashion Tech’s undergraduate winners of the Resene 2017 Colour of Fashion Competition.
