This year, we’re proud to welcome Heart of the City (the city centre Business Association) to the New Zealand Fashion Weekend (NZFW) line up with a show styled and produced by one of our industry’s most-respected talents. She’s dressed the likes of Orlando Bloom, Melanie Blatt, Natalie Bassingthwaite, Georgia Fowler, Cassidy Morris and Stan Walker. Styled runways for some of the country’s top designers. Dreamt up outfits for numerous campaigns. Created looks for iconic magazine covers and was lead stylist on New Zealand’s Next Top Model and X Factor New Zealand. That’s right – Kylie Cooke is on board and we’re giving two budding stylists the exclusive opportunity to assist Kylie for the Heart Of The City show at New Zealand Fashion Week 2019.
So, what’s in it for the winners? Other than garnering a whole heap of invaluable styling experience from the best in the biz, you’ll also have the privilege of being involved in the largest event on the fashion industry’s calendar from go to whoa. The winners’ journeys will begin with the legendary model casting on Saturday August 10 and will require the lucky two to be available to help Kylie with sourcing, styling, fittings, production meetings and more during the weeks following, until show time on Sunday September 1.

There are two rounds and the first begins with a simple Instagram post where you will be required to post an outfit styled either on yourself or a model, showcasing your talent for styling. Use the hashtags #getstyliewithkylie and #heartofaklcityand and tag @nzfashionwk, @fashionz.co.nz and @stylie_kylie in the post. Entries for this round open on Friday 28 June and close on Friday 19 July.
From there, Kylie Cooke, NZFW’s Pieter Stewart and FashioNZ Editor and Publisher Evelyn Ebrey will hand pick the top 10 stylists to enter the final round.
The 10 finalists will then be required to submit a more elaborate shoot consisting of four images styled to one of four themes. The final winners will be chosen by Kylie by Tuesday 6 August to begin their journey with her that weekend.

Entry is open only to New Zealand residents only. Winners must be available to be in Auckland from 10 August, 2019 to 1 September, 2019. No responsibilities are taken for lost, misdirected or incomplete entries. All entrants give permission for NZ Fashion Week Ltd and FashioNZ to share competition entries on their respective websites and social media accounts to promote the competition. Entries are limited to one per person and the two winners must be over 18 years old. This promotion commences on 28 June, 2019 and ends 2 August, 2019 11:59 PM NZT. The 10 finalists will be notified by Instagram direct message on 19 July, 2019. The two winners will be notified on 6 August, 2019 via phone or email. The Prize is work experience assisting Kylie Cooke with the production and styling of the Heart of the City show at New Zealand Fashion Weekend 2019. This Prize must be taken as offered and is not exchangeable, transferable or redeemable for cash. This Prize cannot be on-sold or traded for cash. Travel and accommodation arrangements during the period of 10 August, 2019 to 1 September, 2019 do not form part of the Prize and are the responsibility of the winners.
