Deadly Ponies are celebrating their growing team with their spring/summer 2016/17 collection called Grande Familia, which echoes how a work family often becomes an extended family for many too. “Every aspect of the collection embodies the idea of the working family unit. Industrious, resilient and supportive, unified to achieve a common goal,” says Creative Director, Liam Bowden. Deadly Ponies own team also feature in the new imagery for the collection.
The new season collection brings with it beautiful new colours, materials and designs that reflect Bowden’s vision of refined utilitarian luxury that Deadly Ponies is known for. This season's colour palette is meant to "paint the picture of a family who have toiled their land for generations." Among the new tones is Blossom – a dusky pink, which evokes feelings of growth and renewal; Sky – which represents long days baking in the hot sun, and Charcoal – which references the earth and the importance of remaining grounded.
Exploring denim fringing and industrial brass fixtures this season has meant new designs and sizes for this collection. Among the new ideas is the brass ‘safety pin’ handle which is hand-hammered and adds a stunning feature to the new Mr Fill N Stitch and Mr Stitcher suede bags. The concept of family is again referenced with some of the new designs, as the Mr Kitty family grows this season with the introduction of his elder brother, Mr Kitty Shopper, and the ever-evolving Mr Fill N Zip clan sees the addition of Mr Micro Twist. No doubt many Deadly Ponies fans will be keen to extend their own DP bag families with welcome new pieces from this range too.
