The Classic Red Lip
So this one is a no-brainer, whenever I think of romance, a sexy, bold, red lip is always in the picture. This classic and simple style will have you lookin’ va-va-voom for however you decide to spend your day. The trick to this look is to keep the rest of your makeup simple. A good foundation base and a little mascara and some contour or blush are all you really need to complement this look because remember— the star of this look is your lips. If you’re not too sure what your shade of red suits you, don’t be shy to pop down to your fave makeup counter and ask the pros to give you some guidance, you’d be surprised at just how many shades of red lipstick there can be!

Peachy Keen
Peach coloured makeup is probably the most universal look on our list as the colour peach contains a mixture of pink, orange, red and yellow which means that it will suit pretty much every skin tone. This fresh and youthful makeup look will be perfect for a day time V-day date and it’s also very simple to achieve. Apply your shade of peach over your lids, cheeks and lips and here’s a pro tip – For lighter skin tones you should opt for a softer shade of peach and for darker skin tones, shades like bright oranges, apricots and corals will work the best with your complexion.

Sultry Eyes
For more of a night-time date look, you could opt for a smokey eye and don’t be intimidated, it’s actually easier than it looks. To achieve this look you’re going to want to first prime your eyes, by dabbing primer on your lids and under the eyes, this is going to hold the shadow in place, preventing it from smudging too much or settling into your eye creases and if you have dark under eyes then you’ll want to dab on a little concealer for extra coverage. Then choose a dark colour from your fave eyeshadow palette and maybe instead of opting for a black, to soften it up a little you could opt for pewter or even a brown to avoid looking too Halloween-y. Brush the shadow onto your lids outwards to the crease of your eye, then using a small angled brush, apply the shadow to your lower lash line, then smudge the shadow out using a q-tip or even your finger. If you want even more of a deeper look, you can use a dark eye pencil to trace the bottom and top lash lines so there is no skin peeking through your lashes. Finally, curl your lashes and add some mascara and voila! You’ve got a super, sexy sultry eye.

Pretty In Pink
This makeup look is very pretty and super subtle, all you’ll need is a soft powdery pink to brush over your lids and in the corners of the eyes, you could even add a little shimmery white. Curl your eyelashes then instead of using a dark mascara, opt for a clear formula that will give your lashes some volume and length, without adding in any colour—to achieve a more understated, natural look. Finish this look off with a dab of pink blush over the apples of your cheeks and either a clear gloss or a soft shade of pink on your lips and you’ll be ready to go.

Winged Eyes
Our final pick for a Valentine’s Day look is winged eyes. Think Lana Del Rey and this is the look you’re going to want to imitate. This is another simple and easy look to achieve and you don’t even need a steady hand for it. If you want a little colour on your eyes, try opting for a soft shade of shadow, light a pink or a light shimmer, then grab your eyeliner pen or pencil, pull your eyes out from the crease and carefully draw a straight line along the top lash line and outwards to make your desired flick. Here’s a tip to get the perfect matching flicks – Draw on your flicks and don’t worry if they look a little messy, grab a wet wipe and fold it so it has a smooth edge then use the corner to swipe upwards, creating a neat, sharp line for your wings! Finish this look off with a little light blush and a nude or pink lip.
