Five Ways to wear Jumpsuits

Jumpsuits are a great item to wear all year round and I’ve found five different ways to add them into your look this summer. They’re a more practical garment than a dress but can be just as feminine and versatile. With these five charming options you’ll be covered for every occasion.

Celine Rita Sarah jumpsuit $300 and Liam Bessie pantsuit $399.

1. Recently I’ve seen a few lovely photos of jumpsuits used as bridesmaid’s outfits which is a clever idea, they’re infinitely more practical than dresses and Celine Rita has incorporated a few, like her striped Sarah jumpsuit, into her current summer and bridal collection. Even if you don’t fancy the idea of bridesmaids in jumpsuits they would still make winsome wedding guest attire and the wide-legged style is easy for most shapes to wear.

2. While we’re on the topic of occasions, Liam’s chic Bessie Pantsuit would be a wonderful choice for a cocktail party or something more formal. It’s perfectly acceptable for women to wear trousers instead of dresses for every occasion and we’ve seen more than a few jumpsuits on the red carpet over the past couple of seasons. Liam’s one is quite versatile in its simplicity and could make quite a statement with some gorgeous cocktail jewellery.

Storm Printed Jumping Jack playsuit $229 and Ezibuy New Look Slinky jumpsuit $48.

3. If you’re inclined to wear shorts in summer, Storm’s Printed Jumping Jack playsuit is an excellent option for lunch with the ladies, shopping or depending on your workplace it has enough coverage to be suitable for work too. It’s also lightweight and has practical pockets which makes it a comfortable choice for all day wear. Simply add heels and some pretty jewellery to wear it out to dinner.

4. Speaking of going out, I could imagine twirling around the dancefloor in Ezibuy’s New Look Slinky jumpsuit this party season. It’s definitely a sensual look with the fitted shape and cut out detail at the neck, I love that it’s not too revealing though and at such a great price point it wouldn’t be the end of the world if someone’s red wine accidentally got spilled on it. The metal insert at the neck means you don’t even have to bother with a necklace either.

Tigerlily Byala Playsuit $129.95 (AUD) approx $139 (NZD).

5. Spending the day at the beach is one of the best things about summer and Tigerlily’s Byala playsuit is a sweet choice for relaxing in. Whether you throw it over the top of your swimsuit for practicality or simply wear it on its own, it’s exceptionally comfortable with an elasticated waist too. I’ll definitely be adding a playsuit to my beach bag this summer and this one will be top of my list.

And yes, I know technically jumpsuits and playsuits are slightly different because of their length but they’re of the same family of garments so I figured I would use both as examples for this story. I’ve been building up a collection of jumpsuits and playsuits of my own, can’t wait to wear more of them now the warmer days are here.
