From 18–21 September, Commercial Bay’s Solstice returns, bringing four days of fashion, food, music and unmissable energy to Auckland’s waterfront.
More than just another shopping event, Solstice has become a moment on the cultural calendar – a symbolic nod to the season ahead and a celebration of new beginnings. This year, the precinct expands the celebration, promising its most ambitious lineup yet.

At the centre of it all? Two runway shows that will once again transform Commercial Bay’s laneway into a striking open-air catwalk. Under the creative direction of Karen Inderbitzen-Waller, the shows will spotlight new-season collections from some of fashion’s most covetable names – from Juliette Hogan’s refined minimalism to the playful sophistication of Wynn Hamlyn. Adding to the atmosphere, internationally renowned twin DJs Rain and China Katayanagi will soundtrack the runway with their signature mix of style and sound.
But the magic doesn’t end on the catwalk. Across the four days, Commercial Bay will hum with exclusive in-store offers, curated dining experiences and live entertainment, ensuring the precinct feels more like a festival than a shopping destination. Saturday and Sunday bring DJs spinning across the laneways, while the city’s favourite restaurants serve up summer-ready dining deals.

And for those who love a little extra thrill, shoppers who spend over $150 can try their hand at Commercial Bay’s giant claw machine for the chance to win a $5,000 spending spree – a prize as enticing as the runways themselves.
“Solstice is more than just a fashion event – it’s a celebration of the season, of community, and of the city’s energy as we move into summer,” says Lily Montana, Head of Consumer Marketing at Commercial Bay.
As the days get longer and wardrobes brighter, Solstice arrives as the perfect way to welcome summer – with fashion at its core and the city buzzing at its best.
