Huffer at FW '09 – review

Huffer at FW '09

Take New Zealand’s most internationally successful streetwear label and add a cult leading edge Ponsonby Road womenswear designer, and you get – Huffer and Miss Crabb! The two unlikely bedfellows showed their winter 2010 collaboration last night at a car showroom in Newmarket to conclude Fashion Week 09.

Kristine Crabb applied her classic ideas to the huffer brand designing 25 pieces for the womenswear collection. The key pieces combined equal parts of street wear and sex appeal and included cropped t-shirts in black and white with draw string detailing, ruched, draping draw string mini skirts and a number of voluminous trenches cinched at the waist.

The guys' collection included double breasted and tailored wool coats teamed with skinnies, drop crotch pants, plaid, horizontal stripes and leather bombers. Textured knits stamped their mark once again and accents of magenta, khaki, zesty yellow, red and neon's accompanied the sombre black, charcoal and marl colour palette.

The stellar Huffer show never fails to disappoint, and rounded out what has been a fabulous week in New Zealand fashion.
