From smoky rose scents to nostalgic rituals, these are the things making Connie’s day.

Tsu Lange Yor – Sage’s Rose

MECCA
I was gifted this perfume by my three beautiful best friends Jean Millie and Bailey for my birthday and I’ve never received so many compliments. Designed by my forever muse Sage Sivan with her brother Troye, Sage’s Rose is the perfect smoky rich rose scent with notes of myrrh, damask rose and amber resin. It has quickly become my go to evening scent.

Its Olio Olive Oil

ItsOlio
Growing up in restaurants and my dads test kitchen, I always found it interesting how chefs use squeezy bottles for their oils. My dad explained to me this is so they can control the amount used and create more precision whether coating a frying pan or drizzling over a salad. ItsOlio obviously caught onto this and have made delicious extra virgin olive oil that comes straight out of a squeezy bottle. Not sure if it’s the novelty factor or the fact it reminds me of my childhood, but I have been drowning my meals in this squeezy goodness.

Ray-Ban Wayfarers

Sunglass Style
There is one rule I live by when it comes to my style: nothing will ever beat a classic. For me this looks like a pair of blue levis jeans, a heavy cotton t-shirt, spanish or italian leather boots, and of course, Rayban Wayfarers. I have cycled through sunglasses over the years and always end up back at Wayfarers. I don’t know what it is – maybe the fact someone said they make me look like Bob Dylan, but they just feel very effortlessly cool.

Heavy Metal – Cameron Winter

Flying Out
With Laneway coming closer, I’ve been listening to some of the artists from the line up including Geese, a very cool experimental rock band (think The Strokes and Radiohead had a weird but incredible love child – that’s what Geese sounds like to me). However, this listening led me down a bit of rabbithole with the lead singer Cameron Winter and his solo debut album Heavy Metal. It has been on repeat for me since – a brilliant, utterly sad but equally hopeful listen. My standouts are Nausicaä (Love Will Be Revealed) and Love Takes Miles.

RUBY Resort

RUBY
RUBY has to be one of my all time favourite NZ brands and do you know who does summer wear well? RUBY. Every year, RUBY resort hits it out of the park, and this year was no exception. My favourite story has to be the Riley, crafted in beautiful baby blue silk and scattered with black polka dots.

Monochromatic Photo Frames

Etsy
I am probably one of the most sentimental people you could meet, and have kept every single card, token or memento that reminds me of something or someone since I can remember. Ive been very inspired by what ive been seeing on pinterest with displacing these keep sakes in fun monochromatic frames. I feel like this is such a fun and special way to dress up a wall. Etsy has some fantastic ones.

Hydrangeas / Peonies

One thing about me is I will be buying myself fresh flowers every week, this is a non-negotiable in my self love routine. And as much as I love my winter Tulips, I have such an infinity with summer flowers, especially Hydrangeas and Peonies. I’ve slowly started seeing both varieties appear and it honestly fills me with so much joy and excitement for the warmer weather. My go-to for flowers is Bhana Bros on Ponsonby, their selection is fabulous.

SATC

NEON
It seems like a right of passage to be 24, single, and binge watch Sex and The City – this is exactly what me and my two flatmates are doing currently. Our nightly routine consists of lots of herbal tea and biscuits, and snuggling up together on the couch to see what antics Carrie, Charlotte, Samatha and Miranda get up to; it is truly a beautiful thing.

@talliia

An instagram page I have been absolutely loving recently is Talia Hubble; a creator with impeccable taste sharing her life living between her inner city apartment in Manhattan and her cottage in Rhode island. She’s the queen of hosting dinner parties, matching PJ sets and romanticising all aspects of her life…she’s who I wanna be when I grow up!

Georgia Jay Ombra Bag

Georgia Jay
Another long time New Zealand brand I have adored is Georgia Jay. My fashion obsession tends to be around shoes and bags, and because of this, my Georgia Jay bag collection is ever evolving. However, if I were to have to pick a favourite, it would be the Ombra. I have three in my collection at the moment, and it is the bag I almost always reach for. Understated, chic and classic.
