When the FNZ team received a press release from Kmart regarding their latest April apparel range we were taken aback by the bold statement that Kmart was apparently in their “slay-era”.
With eyebrows raised and noses turned up we couldn’t help but think of the “run don’t walk to Kmart” trend that circulated TikTok a few months back. Hundreds of videos detailing shopper’s latest Kmart finds were (and still are) going viral, convincing many people to pop on down to their local slay-mart and get amongst the seemingly valid hype.
For the average New Zealander, Kmart is your one-stop shop for EVERYTHING and you can often find yourself going in for one thing and instead coming out with 20 items you didn’t know you needed. But a coveted fashion destination?
With the ever-looming recession and cost-of-living crisis in full swing, it’s fair to assume we have all had to think twice about purchasing clothes from higher-end retailers. So with Kmart providing trendy and “timeless” staples at a lower price point, it makes sense to consider them as an option when looking for new pieces does it not?
Developed by Kmart’s locally based in-house design and buying team, the latest collection showcases a range of seasonal colours, textures and sustainable blends, demonstrating how easy it is to find the ideal look for the whole family.
The April Apparel designs have been centred around comfort and versatility, with a focus on layering pieces to build upon as the weather cools down. Inspired by global trends that have evolved from catwalks through to the mass market, each item gives capsule and trendsetting options to Kmart customers.
Kmart’s Divisional Merchandise Manager – Apparel, Natasha Smith says, “At Kmart, we are thrilled to be launching another exciting apparel range that we know our customers will love and cherish.”
“With the cost-of-living front of mind, as a brand, we’re proud to deliver a complete customer offering – from apparel to footwear and accessories. We want to enable everyone to look good, be comfortable and feel confident, without breaking the bank” says Smith.
