Ovna Ovich recently released the brand’s Chapter 13 collection timed for the Autumn/Winter 2020 season. It sees founder and designer Marina Davis considering the idea of home; ‘Is it the place we come back to at the end of a long work day – the perfect house we scrimped the deposit for; the bustling flat we’ve carved out our own space in? Is it the town we grew up in, or the city we made our own way in? Do we find it in our family? Our friends? Our partner? Can we, and should we, find it in ourselves?’

The exploration of these questions informs the new range which is a personal work for the designer yet a confident and assured collection. After 13 seasons Marina is much more at home in her work and also within herself which comes through in the range. It is familiar yet takes another considered step forward for the Ovna Ovich customer drawing on the beautiful archive of the designer’s work.

This collection is carefully created with just 20 pieces in the range but each has its purpose and place with a clever mix of favourites and new shapes on offer. From the beginning Marina has danced to her own beat eschewing trends to create refined pieces that have become covetable in their own right. Her intelligent use of colours and textures makes for a winsome range which will appeal to her many customers.

Among the key pieces is the Kahlo dress which was a firm favourite last season and returns in classic black and an olive plaid cotton. The wonderfully puffed sleeves which are an Ovna Ovich signature and the charming mother of pearl buttons that close the front of the dress make it a dreamy piece that could easily be your new favourite dress. In the same hues and in smokey blue is the off shoulder Virginia top which is a perfect match with the elegant Eleanor pant.

Those who love Ovna Ovich’s suiting will find the Ya blazer and Eleanor Pant in lime tencel and deep chocolate wool a wonderful update.  The beloved Kom jumper also returns in versatile charcoal and wheatmeal in super soft possum wool. New to the range is the alluring Isadora dress which is available in black or deep cornflower blue tencel. It’s languid shape and voluminous sleeves make it an obvious choice for those more glamorous winter occasions. Although it’s so beautiful and easy to wear you’ll want to wear it all the time anyway.

From the beginning Ovna Ovich has been committed to ethical and sustainable values recognising and respecting the earth as the most precious physical home for all of us. Every piece is ethically made from sustainably sourced fabrics and finishings with each piece produced within a 15 km radius of the Ovna Ovich studio. This is fashion with a heart and a purpose.
