The summer break isn’t far away and RUBY have released their beautiful new Resort collection today with lots of options for party season and summer holidays. Creative Director Deanna Didovich has called the range Local Honey and it’s “a gulp of fresh air and optimism centred on something known: the idyllic New Zealand summer”. The designer’s favourite season is summer and she looked to happy memories filled with sunny days at the Coromandel as inspiration. The result is a fresh and pretty range that is relaxed and joyful, perfect for the most free-spirited season of the year.

RUBY excel at playful collections and this one is full of vibrant, zesty hues and charming silhouettes. Breezy daywear and flirtacious partywear make Local Honey something pretty special. The winsome colour palette of sorbet lemon, apple, grape, candyfloss, blue and green is uplifting and suitably summery. The collection features a new exclusive Bettina floral print which has a painterly look and is beautifully featured on a gorgeous one-shouldered dress with cut out detail and a luscious silk slip as well as a cotton skirt, tshirt, crop top, shorts and mini-dress. There’s even a matching bucket hat in what will no doubt be the print of the season.

Gingham fans will love the retro inspired mini-dress, shorts, shirt, crop top and midi-dress that are accessorised with matching scrunchies and caps. Are you getting the sense that RUBY are amazing at accessorising yet? There’s also a delightful summer tweed which will be wonderful for those occasions when you’re wanting something a little dressier.

This season sees the launch of RUBY’s debut swimwear collection too, with a scoop neck one-piece, a bandeau and asymmetrical crop, and high-waisted bottoms on offer. They’re all in the gorgeous Bettina floral of course so you can wear the matching clothing too. The swimwear itself is made from Econyl® regenerated nylon, which is a fabric created from recycled fishing nets and nylon waste; it makes for great swimwear which is good for the planet too.

RUBY take their commitment to sustainability seriously and have been working towards a more responsible production cycle, which includes the materials they use in their collections. For Local Honey, 20% of the fabrics used are completely traced back to source. This 20% includes silk, GOTS-certified cotton and linen, Econyl® regenerated nylon and European Flax®. RUBY believe that fashion should also serve the concerns around us, humanity, and our planet.
