Before Australian Fashion Week 2024 kicked off, we asked Chic Management Sydney to tell us about the 10 newest faces who will be taking to the catwalk this year.
Therese Moore @therese.jan
Age: 19
Home: Brisbane.
Bio: Scouted in 2021, Therese attended a model course at June Dally Watkins in Brisbane when she was 15 years old. She was identified then as a potential modelling star. When she left school, she started doing the odd job with Chic Brisbane and in 2024 was offered a 3 month contract in Korea. Whilst embarking on her modelling career, Therese also finds time to study a law degree. Fashion Week 2024 will be her first and looks forward to the opportunity of walking the runway.
Ziggy @ziggyelliss
Age: 20
Bio: Ziggy was scouted by Chic when she was just 13. Since leaving school two years ago, Ziggy has worked in London, Paris and Milan and shot editorials for Marie Claire and Russh Magazines, as well as shooting campaigns for R.M.Williams and Oroton. A standout on the catwalk, Ziggy is guaranteed to impress at this year’s AFW.
Uma Fa Leung @umafaleung
Age: 20
Home: Netherlands
Bio: Uma is Dutch/Chinese. She and her family moved to Ecuador when she was 6 and lived there for 14 years. Since arriving in Australia, Uma has worked for Australian Vogue, Bassike, Toni Maticevski, Jac + Jack and St Agni, just to name a few.
“I’m loving working in Australia, everything has been absolutely lovely, from working with my agents, to the people I’ve met and places I’ve seen. One that really stood out to me was the first editorial I got to be a part of, which was with Vogue Australia. Definitely a very memorable experience and I’m extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to do that shoot!”

Age: 18
Bio: Brand new to modelling, Oli grew-up on the South Coast of New South Wales in a small town called Cobargo. International agents are lining-up to represent her even though she has just started in the industry. She loves horse riding and looking after all her animals which include parrots, cats, dogs, pigs and goats.

Home: Huntsville, Alabama, USA
Bio: Kayla’s all-time favourite job was working for Vogue Australia. “It was a dream I’ve been wanting to accomplish since I first started working in the industry, so I was absolutely thrilled to complete that goal of mine” said Kayla. Outside of Australia, she loved working for Calvin Klein in Cape Town, South Africa. In her downtime, Kayla loves hiking, reading books and writing, especially poems.

Age: 20
Home: Sunshine Coast, Queensland
Bio: Jemima is half Sri Lanken and applied to Chic Brisbane to be a model when she was 18 years of age. She is signed to the prestigious modelling network NEXT on a world-wide contract and has already traveled to London and Spain. Recently, she has worked for Scanlan & Theodore, Nude Lucy and Zulu + Zephyr.

Bio: Ayen has been in strong demand since she first started modelling two years ago. Ayen has worked for AJE, Zimmerman, Oroton and Harpers Bazaar.

Home: Adelaide
Bio: Brianna is a lover of Art. She has worked extensively overseas over the last six months, and while at Milan Fashion Week 2024, Brianna walked for Moschino and Bally and was featured in a number of editorials. This will be Brianna’s first Australian Fashion Week.
Marisa Pavela @marisa.pavela
Age: 17
Bio: Marisa finished her final year of school in 2023. Marisa was discovered in the 2020 Girlfriend Model Search and was 13 years of age at the time. Marisa grew up in Sydney, loves to high jump, does contemporary dance and has been doing Taekwondo since Year 7. Over the last year, Marisa has worked for Ksubi, Camilla and Marc, Bassike, Sir, Cotton On and has a very bright modelling career in front of her.

Age: 18
Home: Byron Bay
Bio: Kikki joined the development program at Chic Brisbane when she was 14 years old. Over the last year, she has had three trips to Europe working in Paris, Milan and Madrid. Signed to Next Models world-wide, Kikki has an exciting career in front of her. Over the last few weeks, she has worked for Victoria & Woods, Hansen and Gretel and will be walking in lots of shows at this year’s AFW. She is an avid drawer and loves art.
