Where Style Meets Stay: Hotel Indigo Auckland Joins Forces with Oosterom and NZ Fashion Week

Hotel Indigo Auckland is making a bold entrance into the city’s fashion scene with the announcement of two stylish new partnerships: a bespoke design collaboration with local fashion label Oosterom and a headline role as the Official Accommodation Partner for New Zealand Fashion Week 2025.

The boutique lifestyle hotel, which recently opened its doors in the heart of Auckland, has teamed up with Auckland-based designer Nicole Hadfield of Oosterom to create a custom collection of accessories for its hotel staff. The capsule includes thoughtfully designed pocket squares, scarves, and scrunchies that not only elevate the hotel’s uniform but also celebrate the essence of Tāmaki Makaurau through wearable art.

“The exclusive print reflects the essence of Auckland as a vibrant and evolving city,” said Hadfield, whose made-to-order label is known for its modern tailoring and thoughtful detail. Inspired by iconic landmarks like the Civic Theatre, Auckland Art Gallery, Sky Tower, and the Ferry Building, the accessories act as conversation starters – inviting guests to explore the city’s creative and cultural history through personal stories shared by staff.

A warm palette of yellow, ruby red, and earthy tones was chosen to complement the hotel’s moss and forest green uniform, and to echo the organic, calming interiors curated by designer Simone Hagg. The result is a refined yet expressive uniform collection that captures the hotel’s aesthetic – sophisticated, welcoming, and uniquely local.

But the fashion focus doesn’t stop there. Hotel Indigo Auckland is also the Official Accommodation Partner for New Zealand Fashion Week 2025, set to return to Shed 10 on Queens Wharf from 25–30 August. The highly anticipated event promises a revitalised programme of runway shows, panels, and activations with a fresh emphasis on diversity, sustainability, and community engagement.

“Partnering with both emerging local designer Oosterom and New Zealand Fashion Week allows us to showcase Auckland’s vibrant fashion and design scene,” said Hotel Indigo Auckland General Manager, Mathew Simister. “We’re proud to be at the forefront of Auckland’s cultural and creative landscape.”

Liam Taylor, NZFW Director of the Board, echoed the sentiment, adding: “We’re entering an exciting new chapter, and Hotel Indigo Auckland is an ideal partner to help bring that vision to life. Their commitment to supporting local talent and crafting meaningful experiences aligns perfectly with the future of New Zealand Fashion Week.”

As part of the partnership, the hotel will host on-site events during Fashion Week, offering stylish moments of connection between guests, designers, and the broader creative community. With its blend of artful design, heritage storytelling, and deep ties to the local fashion world, Hotel Indigo Auckland is quickly becoming one of the city’s most compelling places to stay – and to be seen.
