Wilson Trollope's Diamond Affair

We have a soft spot for Wellington labels since their collections seem to be the most realistic for New Zealand's changeable weather and there is rarely a super-sheer garment in sight in summer, much less winter. A great example of this is Wilson Trollope's latest spring/summer collection 'Black Diamond' created by designer and Wellingtonian Annabelle Wilson, which is a poised and carefully layered collection perfect for the transient nature of our weather, particularly in spring.

This new collection draws inspiration from the diamond suit of playing cards which is seen in the diamond motif, angular panelling, embroidery and applique. The look is polished but has a casual elegance which means the garments would work well from day to night or dressed up as occasion wear.

Now in its seventh season, Wilson Trollope may not be that familiar to most Aucklanders, but as you can see from these images we are certain that will be changing in the near future due to the confident and easy to wear nature of these feminine pieces. We love that the garments are ladylike lengths which are both practical and flattering on a range of ages and body shapes.

The great mix of florals, prints and stripes in fabrics of silk, cotton and linen makes for a vibrant and very appealing collection with lots of options to create beautiful looks. We're particularly fond of the fuller-skirted styles and gorgeous dresses, not to mention that lovely grey jacket below.

Wilson Trollope is holding a pop-up store in Wellington from November 2nd-30th to showcase their spring/summer collection on the corner of Dukes Arcade and Manners Street. They will also be popping up in Auckland next year at Ponsonby Central from April 11th to May 1st to present their winter 2016 collection. In the meantime you can also check out Wilson Trollope's ranges online and start shopping up a storm.
