In a move as elegant as their signature settings, New Zealand jewellery house Naveya & Sloane is expanding its universe of light and luxury – this time, to the South Island.
After more than four years of dreaming, designing, and perfecting, Naveya & Sloane is set to unveil its second showroom in Christchurch this June, marking a defining moment in its 16-year journey.
Founded in 2009 by real-life partners Rachel Sloane and Alex Bunnett, Naveya & Sloane has built a legacy rooted in storytelling through stones. Known for their transcendent craftsmanship and art-forward approach to fine jewellery, the duo have long commanded attention from collectors and romantics alike. But their latest chapter is not just a new address – it’s a love letter to the Garden City.
Tucked into the first floor of the Midland Club Building, an 85-year-old architectural gem on Oxford Terrace that has stood resilient through quakes and restorations, Naveya & Sloane’s new Christchurch outpost is a study in considered elegance. Think Renaissance palazzo charm meets modern-day luxury: soaring bay windows, restored brick, golden marble cabinetry and soft, warm light designed to let each stone shine with its full fire. If jewellery is the art, this showroom is the gallery.
For Sloane, the space is about more than aesthetics – it’s about presence. “Just as our Auckland flagship in the Imperial Building pays homage to tradition—the soul of our craft—it was essential to find a Christchurch home that does the same,” she says. “We’re here to build something lasting, something personal.”
The move south comes in response to Naveya & Sloane’s growing South Island clientele and the success of their annual trunk shows, but it also reflects a deeper alignment. Christchurch, a city with a quietly confident design sensibility, is the perfect counterpart to the brand’s ethos: timeless yet contemporary, expressive yet refined.
In celebration, the Christchurch showroom will temporarily host the house’s beloved Garden Party collection – a kaleidoscopic daydream of florals and fine stones that captures the season’s softer moods. Adding to the enchantment? A one-of-a-kind, commissioned artwork by Sydney-based Kiwi artist Nick Herd, inspired by the collection’s botanical spirit and displayed above the jewels for one month only. Even better: any client who purchases from the collection will go in the draw to win the bespoke piece.
With jewellers and setters still based at their Queen Street headquarters, the Christchurch showroom is less a replication and more an evolution – a second home with a distinct local soul. In a city known for its strength and reinvention, Naveya & Sloane is offering something both enduring and exquisite: a space where heritage is held close, but the future sparkles just as brightly.
