Celebrated Australian label Aje recently released the brand’s Pre-Fall 22 collection called Biophilia in stores and online. Founders Adrian Norris and Edwina Forest have designed the range to reflect a conversation between nature, architecture and fashion. The designer duo were inspired by works of architectural splendour that exist in relation with the natural world, such as the iconic spaces of architects Antoni Gaudí, Stefano Boeri and Frank Lloyd Wright.

As it’s name suggests Biophilia is an exploration in the harmony and dichotomy between human-made structures and living matter, melding modern materials with organic aesthetics. The result is beautiful abstract silhouettes in Aje’s signature contemporary style with a dynamic textual palette that draws from exotic flora and fauna as well as fascinating architecture. The Aje team love the vibrant spills of colour as seen in the stained glass windows of Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia, Gaudí’s work on the building is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The pieces from Biophilia are themselves eye-catching works of art with gorgeous dresses, tops, skirts, knits and pants in a rainbow of beautiful hues. The puffed sleeves, full skirts and cut-out details continue to be beloved by Aje’s many fans and this season’s vibrant take on Pre-Fall fashion is a joyful way to embrace the new season.
