Located in the heart of Midtown, this boutique hotel offered more than just a place to rest – it became my base of operations, my wardrobe, and my sanctuary amidst the whirlwind of runways.

Hotel Indigo’s design is a nod to Auckland’s industrial past, with rooms featuring vintage-inspired bathroom fixtures, warm timber floors, and gold accents. The 225 rooms are equipped with amenities tailored for both relaxation and productivity. The in-room minibars are stocked with locally sourced products, including the best white peach negroni I’ve ever had. The hotel’s location placed me steps away from on and off-site Fashion Week events, making it an ideal spot for quick outfit changes and impromptu styling sessions. The spacious rooms provided ample space for my many suitcases, accessories, and the occasional photoshoot.
Bistro Saine: Where Fashion Meets Flavour
No stay at Hotel Indigo would be complete without a visit to Bistro Saine, the hotel’s in-house restaurant. Open daily from 6:30 AM to 10:30 PM, Bistro Saine offers a refined yet relaxed dining experience. Led by Executive Chef Yutak Son, the menu features French-Mediterranean dishes crafted from seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Signature dishes include steak frites, fresh seafood, and indulgent pastas, all served in an inviting atmosphere that reflects the hotel’s chic aesthetic.

From winding down with a room-service burger to streaming The Summer I Turned Pretty via Chromecast, it made the chaos of Fashion Week feel surprisingly manageable.
