Andrea Moore NZFW 2013 Review

Walking through a dark Nordic wood, follow the footprints in the snow and emerge into a world of hidden secrets and strange metamorphoses. Princesses become swans, foals into princes, and the Northern Lights illuminate shadowy depths.

This is the backdrop for Andrea Moore’s AW14 Collection. The inspiration – Scandinavia.

The collection captures scandinavia’s mythical stories of enchanted animals and their interest in the dark and mysterious.

But that’s not all Scandinavia is known for – the beautiful winter landscape and setting is also told through Moore’s AW14’ collection – a contrast of the mysterious & gothic beliefs vs the beautiful and serene.

Silhouettes sparkle with crystals resembling ice covered landscapes, and swan prints accentuate feminine curves with a nod to enchanted animals through silver deer zipper detailing.

Coats, capes and bomber jackets are soft and slinky, yet show off the female form through Moore’s exquisite tailoring. High quality fabrics, beautiful brights and houndstooth featured throughout the collection, along with form fitting denim and statement pants.
