Born in Mount Roskill to Samoan parents, he brings deep cultural perspective to his work, viewing fashion as a powerful form of narrative and identity.

His early career saw him become the go-to stylist for some of Aotearoa’s top musicians, including Stan Walker, Ladi6, and Hollie Smith. Since then, his work has appeared across Vogue Australia, Billboard US, GQ London, and the pages of Fashion Quarterly, Remix, Viva, and Mindfood Style. In 2022, he won Best Costume Designer at the New Zealand Television Awards for his work on TVNZ’s The Panthers.

Sammy’s philosophy centres on building worlds through clothing – whether in editorial, commercial campaigns, or film and television. He remains committed to pushing creative boundaries, elevating Pacific representation, and championing the next generation of storytellers in New Zealand fashion.
