Kowtow Releases 2023–24 Impact Report: A Blueprint for Fashion’s Future

Kowtow’s just-released 2023–2024 Impact Report is a powerful reminder that fashion can be both beautiful and ethical. The Aotearoa-based label, founded by Gosia Piątek, continues to set the standard for sustainable fashion – this year hitting a major milestone: from January 2024, all Kowtow garments are officially 100% plastic-free. The report, which covers the period from April 2023 to March 2024, outlines how Kowtow is reimagining every corner of its business through the lens of circularity, from eliminating waste and designing out pollution, to ethical supply chains and community-focused programmes. Highlights include a 72.5% reduction in carbon emissions, the launch of two “Reimagine” collections using surplus fabric, 424 garment repairs, and a whopping 94% reduction in waste to landfill from its head office and flagship store. With B Corp certification, a transparent supply chain, and new initiatives like the “Relove” resale programme, Kowtow proves that purpose-led fashion isn’t just possible – it’s the future.
