NZ Fashion Week announces exciting 2019 schedule

New Zealand Fashion Week‘s full schedule was released for the 2019 event today with an exciting line up of shows and events taking place from August 26th – September 1st. There was also six new designers added to the schedule with Yu Mei, Paris Georgia, Mina, Salasai, Juliette Hogan and Not For You joining the previously announced line up which includes Zambesi, Hailwood, Maggie Marilyn, Kate Sylvester and Kathryn Wilson.

Celebrated womenswear label Juliette Hogan returns to the NZFW runway after a five year hiatus during which time the brand has been opening new stores and expanding their offering. Wellington based luxury leather goods label Yu Mei returns for their third NZFW presentation under the direction of founder Jessie Wong. Ethical womenswear label Mina designed by Natalie Procter will stage the brand’s first offsite solo show having launched her label in 2017.

As announced earlier today, the Mercedes-Benz Presents designer this year is Paris Georgia who are sure to impress with their first ever NZFW show on Tuesday 27th August. Salasai will be staging a clever digital fashion show happening across NZFW platforms each day while streetwear label Not For You return for their second solo show fresh from opening their first flagship store in Wellington.

“The line up for New Zealand Fashion Week this year is very strong – we have a mixture of iconic heavyweights showcasing once again, and some truly innovative and up-and-coming designers who will be the superstars of tomorrow,” says Dame Pieter Stewart, NZFW founder and managing director.

“It’s a true honour to show at New Zealand Fashion Week – particularly in a year where the event is placing such an emphasis on sustainable fashion,” says Natalie Proctor from Mina. “It’s important that the fashion industry makes conscious and ethical decisions and continues to keep people central to its business model as it grows and evolves.”

As part of New Zealand Fashion Week’s focus on sustainability and diversity there will be two seminars hosted at the event. Tickets for the seminars are available with Fashion Weekend’s tickets on iTicket. Bring on NZFW 2019!
