Leading local label Paris Georgia was announced as the ‘Mercedes-Benz Presents’ designer for New Zealand Fashion Week 2019 today. The honour will see designers Paris Mitchell-Temple and Georgia Cherrie showcase their Fall Winter 2020 collection at New Zealand Fashion Week on Tuesday 27th August, with the show also featuring two beautiful bespoke outfits designed especially for the event.

Both Paris Georgia and Mercedes-Benz are sophisticated and innovative brands which makes them a perfect match. Paris Georgia are known for their clever use of fabrics and colours and create chic pieces that are luxurious and covetable. They are an ideal collaborator to work alongside Mercedes-Benz as the star attraction for one of New Zealand’s most glamorous events. It’s a prestigious honour with previous Mercedes-Benz Presents New Zealand recipients including Dame Trelise Cooper, Knuefermann, Kate Sylvester, Harman Grubiša and Zambesi.

“Partnering with Mercedes-Benz has always been a dream of ours,” says Georgia Cherrie. “Mercedes-Benz is affiliated with so many fashion brands we admire all over the globe, it is truly an honour to sit alongside these designers.”

Paris Georgia and Mercedes-Benz share a dedication to quality craftsmanship, with the inspiration for the designer’s garments often springing from the luxurious textiles they source. Paris and Georgia attribute much of their success to the strong community of women that have helped build the brand to date with the designers looking to their mothers, their friends and women around them as real life muses.

“Our label is dedicated to discerning beauty and timeless femininity,” Paris Mitchell-Temple says. “To that end, we’re always looking to create classic pieces that our customers can wear regardless of trends or seasons.”

General Manager of Mercedes-Benz Cars New Zealand, Lance Bennett says “We are excited to see our commitment to fashion unfold on a local stage, complementing the brand’s global involvement in more than 50 fashion platforms around the world. We are honoured to be partnered with Paris Georgia, and to showcase their collection at New Zealand Fashion Week 2019. Paris Georgia is a brand that prides itself in producing garments to make women feel empowered and confident.”

“We see the parallels between both worlds, which are dramatically evolving to be more open and accessible to everyone. We continue to produce a variety of vehicles that incorporate new innovations from constant connectivity to personalised experiences through our MBUX interface which incorporates “Hey Mercedes” voice-control. These features continue to enhance driving enjoyment across generations of buyers.”

The Mercedes-Benz Presents global initiative recognises and celebrates designers who are ‘dedicated to delivering garments of the highest quality, through innovative design and unique style’. Mercedes-Benz look to align with likeminded individuals based on their shared philosophies and values.

It will definitely be a big night for Paris Georgia with the designers having a few surprises on the evening of the show, including some exciting collaborations with local and international designers and muses. Congratulations Georgia and Paris we can’t wait to see what you present at NZFW 2019.
