New Zealand Fashion Week 2025 has crowned its first-ever winner of the Giltrap Group Helping Kiwis Fly – Fashion Edition Award, with emerging designer Rebe Healy of REBE taking out the honour.
Founded in 2023, REBE has quickly carved out a name in contemporary womenswear, reworking classic silhouettes with a strong, self-assured edge. The brand’s debut ready-to-wear collection signalled a confident new voice in New Zealand fashion, one that has already begun to resonate internationally.
The award, a new initiative between NZFW and presenting partner Giltrap Group, is designed to spotlight designers who are moving beyond their first steps and are ready to scale – offering not just recognition but also the resources, mentorship and exposure needed to grow.
Judges commended REBE for its polished identity and sharp business approach, highlighting a clear understanding of its audience and a strong growth strategy. “In line with the premise of the award, REBE is poised to soar,” the panel concluded.
Giltrap Group CEO Steve Kenchington said supporting designers like Rebe Healy is central to the partnership with NZFW:
