Style File SWIMM

Chloe Peers, founder of SWIMM. Image supplied.

Chloe Peers is the founder and designer of Australian sustainable swimwear label SWIMM, which she launched online last month. Having a background in fashion design, Chloe wanted to create a swimwear brand which is eco-friendly and zero-waste with classic designs that suit a range of body shapes. The swimwear is made from sustainable Merino Wool with a touch of elastane which means the swimwear is soft and has just the right amount of stretch for a great fit.

We caught up with Chloe to find out more about her brand, what inspires her and what you would never catch her wearing!

Tell us about your latest collection?
This will be my first collection for this brand. I have a small collection of classic cuts and colours that are flattering on most women.

What made you become a designer?
I always had an interest in designing classic and flattering cuts starting my career designing women’s and men’s clothing in my first boutique back in 2004. I did a basic pattern making course and taught myself how to screen print which I did during my boutique days stocking my shop with men’s and women’s printed tops amongst other designs.

My personal style is typical Melbourne wardrobe consisting of monochrome colours, lots of black with bold colour accents in the way of accessories and jewellery.

What is your all-time favourite purchase?
My all time favourite purchase was the MBT boots a few years back. They are the shoes with a curved sole so that you have to stabilise your core. Heaps of fun walking in them.

A wardrobe item that should be invested in is a personal thing. I think it is a piece of clothing that’s cut well and can be utilized across many different looks that integrate well with your wardrobe.

Do you have a style rule you always obey?
The main style rule I have is to feel good and comfortable in what you are wearing for your personal style.
